Mayor Ncamiso and other officials reported with conflicts of interest

The Auditor General’s reports for Ndlambe Municipality are available on the National Treasury website (see Section 07). While the latest report (2022/23) is missing, the 2021/22 report reveals serious concerns.

Among the issues highlighted, self-dealing is particularly alarming. This occurs when officials benefit personally from contracts awarded by the municipality. Two instances are mentioned, but details are scarce.

Beyond the cases reported by the AG, there’s further evidence of self-dealing. High-ranking officials, including Mayor Ncamiso, are involved in businesses that have contracts with the municipality. For example, Mayor Ncamiso has business ties with entities owned by her husband and son. In another case, the husband of Ndlambe Director of Infrastructure Masiza is the director of Lisolomzi Prestige Security with whom the municipality does business.

Ratepayers are urged to engage with the Ndlambe council to express their concerns about these ethical breaches.
